In the final week of Black History Month, Thompson Restaurants<\/a>\u2019 Milk & Honey brand<\/a> is daring the DMV to put the money where its mouth is, boosting scholarship and service efforts in a joint fundraiser with D.C.\u2019s Divine Nine network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially launched on Feb. 13, restaurateurs across all Milk & Honey locations have one last chance to dish Southern Hospitality and uplift excellence by contributing meal proceeds to the benefit of students in the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) of Washington, D.C.\u2019s scholarship fund.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commonly referred to as the Divine Nine, the NPHC consists of: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.<\/a>, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.<\/a>, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.<\/a>, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.<\/a>, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.<\/a>, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.<\/a>, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.<\/a>, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.<\/a>, and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs a Black-owned business rooted in community, we\u2019re proud to support an organization that continues to uplift future generations through service and education, particularly during Black History Month,\u201d said Warren Thompson, founder and chairman of Thompson Restaurants. \u201cAs a lifetime member of the Xi Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, and former Chapter President, the partnership is deeply personal to me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday culminates the Round-up Two Week Initiative, prompting Milk & Honey diners \u2013 both in-store and online \u2013 to round up their checks with 100% of proceeds benefiting local Divine Nine NPHC scholarships. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, on Friday, Feb. 27, the brunch eatery will host Black Love Dine & Donate Day, keeping the Valentine\u2019s momentum going with good vibes, soulful food, and a dedicated code contributing 15% of the total bill to the scholarship fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than that, the partnership serves a two-for-one special: highlighting a deeper purpose of Thompson Hospitality<\/a> and its subsidiary restaurant group, while upholding a long-standing commitment to the future of civic, communal and academic advancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
