Kadampa Meditation Center Washington D.C.<\/a> is a non profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to sharing the practical wisdom of Buddha\u2019s philosophy with everyone in the D.C. area through meditation practices and other teachings. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meditation center offers an array of drop-in classes, weekend events, and retreats suitable to all levels of experience. Most classes are offered at the temple in Southwest D.C., however, participants can also take advantage of their branch classes in other areas of the District and Northern Virginia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These meditation classes offer practical methods to improve the quality of participants\u2019 lives through meditation and Buddhist teachings. Each class is self-contained and available by drop in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday and Saturday morning’s pre-releases will be three rounds. Saturday evening and Sunday sealed pre-releases will last for four rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event includes a pre-release pack to use and boosters that will be added to the prize pool. The tournament will be conducted using Swiss pairings. Prizes will be awarded on the basis of overall record towards the event\u2019s conclusion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known for his emotionally driven blend of melodic house and deep grooves, Luno has built a global following through releases on Anjunadeep<\/a>, his widely loved YouTube mixes, and a sound that balances intimacy and late-night momentum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This time around, he brings that signature warmth back to the District, turning Culture into a space where the room finds its groove and the night moves effortlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Queer Black Broadway Walking Tour<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Off the Mall Tours<\/a> and the Rainbow History Project <\/a>are partnering to offer a 1.5 hour walking tour that begins at Howard Theater<\/a> and ends at Thurst Lounge<\/a>, D.C.’s first queer Black-owned bar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tour adds to Rainbow History Project\u2019s larger mission to collect, preserve, and promote the history and culture of the LGBTQ community in the District, and highlights theU Street Corridor<\/a>, once known as “Black Broadway.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra – Jazz With a Cuban Tinge<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 1940s, Cuban musicians such as Mario Bauz\u00e1<\/a>, Francisco \u201cMachito\u201d Grillo<\/a>, and Luciano \u201cChano\u201d Pozo<\/a> electrified jazz by fusing it with Afro-Cuban musical elements and simultaneously wove jazz improvisation into Cuban popular music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These artists and others pioneered a groundbreaking, fresh style dubbed Afro-Cuban jazz. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concert honors the enduring legacy of \u201cCuban Tinge\u201d with dynamic selections including Machito\u2019s \u201cMango Mangue<\/a>,\u201d written by Francisco Fellove Vald\u00e9s<\/a> for Machito to perform with Celia Cruz<\/a>, Bauz\u00e1\u2019s \u201cCubauza<\/a>,\u201d and the iconic \u201cManteca<\/a>\u201d by Chano Pozo<\/a>,  Gil Fuller<\/a>, and Dizzy Gillespie<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winter in Bloom: Floral Candle Workshop with Olga Kardonova<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instructed by Olga Kardonova<\/a>, in this hands-on workshop, students will be guided in creating a one-of-a-kind floral candle using a handcrafted five-inch round concrete vessel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students will walk through the full process of filling the vessel with soy wax, adding fragrance oil, and then dive into the art of wax flower making using molds that will be provided. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the end of the session, each participant will leave with a beautifully finished, flower-adorned candle\u2014perfect as a unique gift or statement piece for home d\u00e9cor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
